Just tried my calligraphy pens for the first time.
What I really like about it is the frequency of dropping the pen to the ink bottle, just to uphold a few drops of ink in the pen. The size of the breather hole is really well-designed. It reminds me of Chinese calligraphy.
Tipping material is rough compared to normal pen or ball-pointed pen. And I have to be very careful to let ink flow out of the slit - ink is so easy to overflow.
Roughness, inconvenience, irregularity. They all seem contradicted to the qualities we value today. But that' s why I love it. It' s about time and persistence, and something subtle in every character you write.
As you can see, I cannot properly use the slit for now. But it' s a start.
